Disappearance Disappearance is the first short story by J. P. Ledger. The story circles a character named Michael Walker, a seasoned detective who has seen everything the hard streets of Chicago have to offer. Nothing seemed to phase him anymore or so he thought. After two failed marriages and burnout, Michael needed a change of scenery and moved to Parkersburg, West Virginia, hoping for a slower-paced life. However, what he found is a case that questioned everything he'd ever known. Disappearance is a suspenseful mystery that draws the reader in from start to finish. Overdrive Sal drives a big rig across North America, something he loves to do. There is nothing like the open road. Dispatch had called the night before giving him a load of farm equipment going to Ohio, a run he had done many times before. On his drive, he sees a vehicle parked on the shoulder of the freeway. It's late at night with no cars in sight. Sal gets out of his truck to offer some assistance but finds a woman unconscious in the driver's seat. He finds a note which reads that the woman has been poisoned and the government she worked for is part of a big conspiracy. It is now up to Sal to expose the truth. Overdrive takes you on a suspenseful ride with many twists and turns so buckle in.
