Elara, a young woman from the subterranean city of Nox, dreams of restoring light to the world. With the help of Orion, an old engineer, she discovers an ancient device that might hold the key to reigniting hope.
Their journey leads them to the Phoenix Initiative in China, where scientists have built a "living sun" from old space junk. As they prepare to launch the living sun, they face fierce resistance from surface creatures that thrive in darkness. Elara, Orion, and the Phoenix Initiative team must defend the project in a final, climactic battle. Against all odds, the living sun is launched, bringing light back to Earth and driving the creatures away.
