Winter is on its way at Collinstein Academy, but the students there don't mind. The djinn can make flames to warm everyone up, the sasquatches and ariels have plenty of fur for heat, and the rest of the mythical creatures find their own way in the cold weather. Instead, the students are thinking about the same things that any other student thinks about: making friends, working on big projects, dealing with bullies, and even falling in love.
Emmett the golem is worrying about all of that, plus his clay skin is reacting to the weather in some funny ways. Add that to dealing with Shane, the bully, and Emmett and his friends are going to need to show what they are made of.
