Crossing over the River

Charlie was and old man living in a nursing home. His wife who had died years before and came to take him home. They walked across a large river and arrived at the Other Side or Heaven. Charlie was surprised to find that Heaven wasn't what he was expecting. He slowly learned to adapt to the Other Side and slowly forgot what it was like living on Earth. There was no crime, hungry, or sadness. He was happy and enjoyed life with his wife in paradise. This is a short story.
