After abruptly quitting her job, single parent Jill Mason takes her eight-year-old daughter, Lizzie, on a ski vacation in Breckenridge, Colorado for a break from their home life in Virginia. Because of her difficult ex-husband and what her male ex-boss had just done last week, Jill has sworn off men completely. She is committed to living a more spontaneous life with her daughter while embracing new challenges.
What Jill doesn't anticipate is meeting Nolan Turner, a man so handsome that he takes her breath away the first morning of their vacation. Nolan seems just as taken with her, and Lizzie, even though Jill learns that he has sworn off dating. By seeing her, Nolan breaks all his rules and Jill starts to fall for him. Over the next few days, she realizes that Nolan might be the man of her dreams, but then discovers that he has a few big secrets, the kind that can drive them apart, and Jill has a past.
