Call Me Bear

After the death of his girlfriend, Cora, Bear breaks ties with the past, is left without money, renounces his name and nationality, and tries to escape from himself by hitchhiking. In China, he meets four young people Martha, Pat, Winsor and Remy. They invite Bear to join them, since Remy seems to be a good person. Accustomed to running away from people, Bear refuses. He pursues one goal: to get to Indonesia and buy a secluded bungalow, which he and Cora dreamed of.
Far from his former life, the main character hopes to understand what his purpose is, as well as find peace of mind. He does not need fellow travelers, but they need him. In Laos, he is picked up by a young hanger-on, who offers Bear to commit a crime, after which Bear thinks about what it means to be a "good person". Then he is invited to a party organized by "daddy". There, the main character again encounters four friends.
They offer to keep him company for the second time. Intuition tells him to give them a chance, although Bear is afraid to open up and get closer to someone.
