Biographie de Drema Deoraich
Drema Deòraich is an award-winning author of character-driven speculative fiction that sometimes asks big questions. Her debut novel "Entheóphage, " a medical sci-fi/climate fiction novel, was published in 2022, and won the Literary Titan Gold Book Award in November of 2024. "Phagey" (as it is affectionately known by its fans) raises some critical questions about human interaction with Nature, and how the impact of our actions could take wildly unexpected turns.
Entheóphage has been the subject of multiple book club discussions, and is currently available in paperback, ebook, and audiobook. While she always has multiple projects in the works, Drema's current front-burner manuscript is The Founder's Seed, a science fiction trilogy that explores being different, especially in a world where different is a very bad thing. Book one, Fallen, was published in May of 2024, and is available in paperback, ebook, and audiobook.
Book two, Broken, is expected out in November of 2024. Book three, Driven, is planned for release in the Summer of 2025. Drema's short stories have been published in numerous online journals, as well as a few semi-professional zines. "Upshot, " her speculative fiction short story about a single mother raising two daughters in the Guatemalan cloud forest, won an honorable mention in the Writers of the Future contest in 2018, and later went on to be published in the international magazine, Mithila Review.
"Jane Doe #7, " which looks at the unintended consequences of usurping medical research for profit, is now in serialized publication in the online zine Underside Stories. "Deer in Headlights, " a speculative climate fiction novelette that takes place in the Pacific Northwest, is expected to release in the November issue of the online zine State of Matter. When time permits, Drema blogs about writing, ideas from Life that inspire her, environmental issues, ways to live more sustainably, and whatever else captures her fancy.
