In the homophobic atmosphere of Sydney during the Roaring Twenties, gay policeman Constable Paddy Langdon was anxious to avoid any deep emotional commitments. Then he met a young man at a seedy Turkish Bathhouse and they fell deeply in love. Violence increased with Gangs using a cheap barbers razor as a weapon of choice, to cut, mutilate and kill rivals. Much of this story is based on historical fact and the use of razors was so prevalent that the suburbs of Woolloomooloo and Darlinghurst were nicknamed 'Razorhurst'.
Homosexuality was a social taboo and as recent as the 1860's a sailor was hanged for buggery. The early 1900's was a turbulent time in Australia's history
