Pretty but introverted, Michelle is befriended by Abbey when the two of them both pledge to a sorority. Abbey seems the perfect friend as she brings Michelle out of her shell and is involved in many campus activities. The friendship leads to a physical relationship, and it isn't long before the unsuspecting Michell is dragged by Abbey into all manner of depraved activities. Now quite aware that her lover was only using her, Michelle reverts into her shell and avoids any type of social activity.
Her brother Michael senses something disturbing is bothering his sister and does his best to gain her confidence back and involve her with other friends. This leads Michelle to Kristen; a girl Michael had arranged for his sister to meet at a dance Michael and his date plan to take her to. Kristen and Michelle take to each other almost immediately, and Michael and his keep involving Michelle and Kristen in their plans, and Michelle is quickly on the mend from her emotional debilitation.
All was moving in the right direction until another tragedy struck and in her fragile state Michelle unfairly blamed Kristen for the tragedy. An ugly split follows and Michelle wonders if she'll ever have any luck with her love life.
