Bible Parents: Travail and Triumph

Excepting only the husband/wife foundation the basic building block of the family structure has always been the parent/child relationship. Loving, problematical, warm, volatile, and inspirational it remains a universal human experience. Do the ancient, at times almost forgotten, stories of the Bible afford any guidance today?
