During school holidays, a boy asks twelve year old Frida to play rugby league on his team. Frida can't believe it. Didn't everyone know that she was a type 1 diabetic?No one ever picked her for sports, let alone rugby league. Frida accepts the boy's offer and has a try. To her surprise, she enjoys playing. Frida wants to play more, but that's tough. She loses her breath after running for a few seconds.
Exercising makes her blood glucose levels go weird. Worse, no one else likes Frida playing rugby league. Her mother thinks it's too rough. Her best friend is annoyed, because it's only stupid sports.
