'At Pinney's Ranch' (1898) is a short story by the American author, Edward Bellamy, most famous for his socialist and utopian novel 'Looking Backward: 2000-1887' (1888). It was love at first sight when John Lansing and Mary Hollister first met at Pinney's ranch, and four years later they are happily married. But when Austin Flint is found murdered, suspicion falls on an innocent Lansing, forcing him to flee town and leave behind everything he loves in order to prove his innocence.
