Joe wanted to get the kids a dog since he felt all children should have a dog.  He had already talked his four wives into making playgrounds in the backyards of both of their houses.  His brother had talked about getting them a dog before he died.  Joe had taken his brother's place and married his four widows and adopted the six children. Joe was just a big kid himself in a lot of ways, so the kids loved him.  Beth was against getting a dog since he would shed hair everywhere.  Samantha thought it was a wonderful idea, so she and Joe went to the pound and found a medium sized young dog.  Actually there were two that were brother and sister, so she couldn't make up her mind which to get.  She decided to bring adopt both of the dogs.
Of course, the kids were thrilled to have dogs to play with.  Even Beth started to warm up to having the dogs around.  Then they moved to Arizona and the dogs started acting like ranch dogs instead of lap dogs. This book is suitable for all age groups.
